Lately, our team has been on the rise. And we liked it a lot. In this press release I would like to formulate the next goal for Twente Cycling: the Volta oa Porto.
This is a division 2 tour, and this means we need to rise a bit more to be able to do so. And if we do, Tjeerd Reniers will be in TF and maybe even TT-centered. With his very specific skill set and with the very specific stage credentials in Portugal, he might be one of the lowest overall riders ever to get a result there.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves. In the rest of the season, we will lose roughly 150 OCM points. Together with our current ranking, this would mean we need a bit more than 300 in order to reach division 2. Let's look at the schedule for the rest of the season:
Day 49: Fort William ITT - Roman Petrescu (Still in TF)
Day 56: Brescia Uphill - Anousone Keovilay
Day 58: Zyte GP - Anousone Keovilay (Classic)
Day 62: Vuelta Huesca - Tjeerd Reniers
Day 62: Tjeerd Reniers starts recharging
Day 69: VCK Classic - Anousone Keovilay (Classic)
Day 69: Anousone Keovilay starts recharging if we are comfortable towards division 2
Day 72: Monte Petrano ITT - Roman Petrescu
Day 85: Arinsal ITT - Roman Petrescu
These are the races we need to shine. And I'm pretty sure we will.
In other news, talent Bing Bosz will join the team from AnnoDomini for 50k. Apart from his awesome name, we brings a very specific skill set capable of winning some very interesting races as well as being a great team mate. Here are his potentials, let's hope he maxes high:
Potential:
CL: Good
DH: Small
HL: Small
SP: Small
FR: Very good
CB: Small
TT: None
TQ: Average
